Printing to a residence hall printer from personal device, Windows 7

You can print directly to a residence hall printer from your personal computer.

Here are instructions on how to do this within Windows 7 (and Vista):

  1. Click the Windows Logo > Control Panel (navigate to Control Panel)
  2. Double click the Devices and Printers icon in the Control Panel window.
  3. Click the Add a Printer button.
  4. Click the Add a Local Printer button.
  5. Choose Create a New Port and select Standard TCP/IP from the drop-down menu.
  6. Click Next.
  7. For the Printer IP Address enter the IP Address for your hall (see list below):
    1. Birch – 10.2.0.1 or 10.2.0.2
    2. Linden – 10.2.25.1
    3. Tamarack – 10.2.32.1 or 10.2.32.2
    4. Oak – 10.5.134.1 or 10.5.134.2
    5. Pine – 10.2.81.1 or 10.2.81.2
  8. Click Next.
  9. For the printer name, just use the default and click Next.
  10. Choose if you want this to be your default printer.
  11. Click Finish to complete the setup process.
