The Student Health Service provides students with a wide range of convenient, quality, on-campus medical services. These services include: Physical Exams Physical Exams in the Student Health Service include work, sports, camp, and general. Free Birth Control and Family Planning Services If you meet certain income and other requirements, you may be eligible for free services. Check it out: Minnesota Family Planning Program at BSU/SHS Women's Health Women's health at the Student Health Service includes Pap smears, treatment for bladder infections, pregnancy testing, birth control counseling, oral contraceptives and contraceptive shots, as well as emergency contraceptives. Evaluation and Treatment Medical evaluation and treatment for numerous conditions such as: bronchitis, sinusitis, strep throat, ear infections, skin rashes, flu, acne, minor injuries, mono, abdominal pain, headache, etc. STD and HIV Testing/Counseling and Treatment Laboratory Services Urine tests, pregnancy tests, HIV and other STD tests or cultures or any other blood tests such as cholesterol, blood sugar, thyroid, liver function tests. Allergy Injections The students must provide their own serum. Immunizations Immunization at the Student Health Service include Diphtheria/Tetanus, Hepatitis A and B, Meningitis, Polio, Typhoid and Flu. Mantoux (tuberculin) testing is also available. Medical Supplies Dressing supplies, crutches, slings, splints, knee immobilizers. Over-the-counter Medications Available for purchase, no appointment needed (cough and cold remedies, treatment for rashes and yeast infections, acne care). Pharmacy Prescription drugs are available through a contract with Market Pharmacy. Prescriptions are delivered to the Health Service daily. Referrals For X-ray, other procedures and specialty care.
