Marketing Coordinator

Role of the Marketing Coordinator: The Coordinator is a part of the HMU team. This position reports to the Associate Director. The responsibilities include:

  1. Write media releases and articles distributed through newsletters, printed collateral, and the HMU Web site.
  2. Contribute to the on-going development of the HMU communications program
  3. Serve as a liaison between HMU functional areas and current and prospective customers
  4. Effectively plan and carry out promotional campaigns for various HMU activities and services.
  5. Use graphic design skills and software to create and promote content that advertises events, activities, and programs of HMU and our campus partners
  6. Adhere to existing visual identity standards
  7. Establish and maintain a production schedule that meets needs of HMU
  8. Have strong design skills
  9. Be able to work creatively inside of set visual identification standards
  10. Be willing to learn new skills when needed for a job
  11. Train other departmental members to assist you with some of the tasks listed above
  12. All work must be performed in a specified HMU work site, unless specifically assigned
  13. Represent HMU at University events as designated.
  14. Attend HMU staff meetings as needed
  15. Other duties as assigned.

As the Marketing Coordinator, you must be able to work with several different computer programs to help you write about and promote the department.

Requirements:

  1. Submit a portfolio that showcases proven skills; graphical and/or written
  2. Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint , and Adobe CS2 software
  3. Work collaboratively in a PC environment
  4. Work collaboratively with other members of HMU staff, university partners, students, and other users
  5. Understand and adhere to prescribed visual branding systems and standards
  6. Understand and adhere to applicable copyright laws
  7. Be familiar with or be willing to learn the APA and BSU Office of Communications style guidelines
  8. Be able to write at a college level
  9. Be familiar with HMU
  10. Manage administrative priorities and client requests
  11. Maintain professional discretion with proprietary information
  12. Maintain regular schedule for office hours to meet with supervisor
  13. Writing and editing skills
