Student Organizations Assistant

Role of the Club and Organization Assistant: The Club and Organization Assistant is a part of the HMU team. This position is supervised by the Associate Director. The responsibilities are:

  1. Meet regularly with the Associate Director and/or other administrators to discuss schedules, priorities, processes, and outcomes
  2. Maintain communication with departmental clients and service providers in a timely manner
  3. Contribute to the on-going development of the student organization center by suggesting ideas to increase functionality
  4. Track student organization center activity
  5. Assist with the club and organization accounts
  6. Coordinate and implement a club newsletter
  7. Assist with training and workshops
  8. Appropriately respond to club and organization communication via email, mail, phone, etc.
  9. Be flexible to work with other projects, other then your specific responsibilities
  10. Have strong administrative/organization skills
  11. Be able to work creatively inside a set of standards
  12. Be willing to learn new skills when needed for a job
  13. Effectively plan and carry out a promotional campaign for various HMU activities and functions.
  14. Assist with club and organizations recognition program including Who?s Who
  15. Represent HMU at University events as designated
  16. Attend HMU staff meetings as needed
  17. Other duties assigned

As the Club and Organization Assistant, you must be able to work with several different constituents in a variety of mediums.

Requirements:

  1. Be proficient in Microsoft Office
  2. Work collaboratively in a PC environment
  3. Work collaboratively with other members of HMU staff, university partners, students, and other users
  4. Understand and adhere to prescribed standards
  5. Manage administrative priorities, requests, and production schedules
  6. Maintain professional discretion with proprietary information
  7. Maintain regular schedule for office hours to meet with supervisor
