Monday, August 25

  • What's Poppin' at Hobson? 10am-10pm, Hobson Memorial Union (HMU) Information Desk - Stop by and grab a free bag of popcorn and find out what events we have planned for the week. Come back every Monday for more updates and a great snack!

  • Trivia Night, 9PM, HMU Lakeside Dining Area - Create a team of 2-5 players and challenge your brain to trivia from the 90’s and beyond. Teams check in by 9:15PM.

Tuesday, August 26

  • Sustainable Tuesday Honey Harvest (sponsored by Sustainability Office) 5:30PM, Rail River Folk School - Join Simone Senogles and Perry Eddy for an exciting event about bees! Simone and Perry will coach us through best practices for harvesting honey. 

  • Open Mic Nite 9PM, HMU Lakeside Dining Area - Show off your talent or watch your fellow beavers show theirs. All talents welcome—music, poetry, comedy, whatever! Sign up in advance at the “Party Hard” CAB event, at the HMU Info Desk or upon arrival at the event.

Wednesday, August 27   

  • American Indian Resource Center Day of Welcome9AM-3PM at the American Indian Resource Center

  • Waterfront Wednesdays (sponsored by the Outdoor Program Center) Noon-6PM, at the Boat House at Diamond Point Park  - Don’t miss out on your chance to explore Lake Bemidji-from the water! Enjoy free rentals of sailboats and paddleboards.

  • Backyard Bash (sponsored by Lutheran Campus Ministry) 5-6:30PM, Lutheran Campus Center - Free food and door prizes. 

  • Kevin Locke Performance (sponsored by the Council of Indian Students), 7PM Bangsberg Recital Hall - An inspiring cultural ambassador, hoop dancer, traditional storyteller and preeminent player of the indigenous Northern Plains flute. 

  • Back to School BINGO, 9PM, HMU Lakeside Dining - Take your chance at winning some BSU gear, school supplies and fun things to fill up your residence hall room or apartment.

Thursday, August 28

  • Beaver Floats 3PM, HMU Terrace Lounge -  Grab a free root beer float this week, and every Thursday at this time and place. This week, meet members of the BSU Student Senate and check out our newly remodeled Terrace Lounge

Friday & Saturday, August 29 & 30 

  • Bike Around Lake Bemidji (sponsored by Students For the Environment), 5PM, Meet at the Boathouse at Diamond Point Park - Bring your own bike or check out our new Nice Ride bikes for a small fee.

  • Beaver Theater, 8PM,  HMU Lakeside Dining Area on Friday, Walnut Upper Deck on Saturday - Kick off a full year of weekly screenings of pre-released movies with our opening show “Neighbors” featuring Seth Rogen and Zac Efron as dueling neighbors.

Saturday, August 30

  • Women’s Soccer Alumni Game 7PM, Chet Anderson Stadium

Sunday, August 31

  • Waterfront SUNDAY! 2-5PM - Come to the Boat House at Diamond Point Park to enjoy free rentals of sailboats and paddleboards. Meet on the hour in front of Walnut to walk over with residence life staff.

  • Northwoods Dining Feature Meal “Social Bites” 4:30-9PM in Walnut Hall - Get to know your fellow Beavers while dining on fun appetizers and finger foods.  

Monday, September 1

  • Campfires & S’mores 9PM, Residence Hall Lawns - Spend some time around the campfire getting to know your fellow students and enjoy a favorite north woods treat. Each residence hall will have a campfire outside of their hall. Students are welcome at any hall so meet students in your building and others!

Tuesday, September 2

  • Free Grilled Heggie’s Pizza Feast (sponsored by Chi Alpha), 4:30-7:30PM, Walnut Lawn
