National president or official of the society appointed by the National President stands center rear; sponsor and officers opposite form a semicircle, facing table; sponsor presents charter officials.
This initiation follows the regular ritual for initiation of members with these exceptions: 1. Officers stand in the position of initiates and the sponsor takes the place of the chairman of the initiating committee. 2. The national president takes the place of sponsor and officers throughout the ceremony, reading all of their parts, demonstrating the signs of "Joy, Vision, Service," lighting the candles of the same, giving the keys, and having the signatures in the secretary's book, saying, concluding the ceremony, "Will you as charter officers of __________ Chapter of Alpha Phi Sigma sign your names with your offices on the roll in this order: Sponsor, President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer? (They sign.) I now declare you the first officers of __________ Chapter of Alpha Phi Sigma in __________ (School) with all the responsibilities, honors, and privileges attaching thereto."
