National President or official of the fraternity appointed by the National President stands center rear; sponsor and charter officers form a semicircle opposite, facing the table; charter members are auditors.
(The sponsor of the chapter shall be chosen by the charter members with the approval of the Administration.) The officers of the chapter shall be elected by the usual democratic procedure from the scholastically-eligible, charter members before the installation and shall assist in dressing the long table, covered by a white cloth at the front of the room, with the symbols of the Alpha Phi Sigma fraternity which are concealed until presented. The charter members form the audience. The sponsor and the officers march to position facing the table.

(To the sponsor and the elected officers): You have been honored by being selected to serve as sponsor, president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer of __________ Chapter of Alpha Phi Sigma. As officers of this fraternity you will be responsible in large measure for the work and progress of your chapter. By the faithful, regular, and efficient performance of your duties you will insure the success of your chapter. You will advance the cause of learning in your institution by maintaining within the chapter high scholastic standing, by encouraging a continued love of learning, and by promoting high standards of scholarship in the student body. You will now arrange the table with the symbols of the fraternity.
(To the sponsor): You will now place the bowl of yellow roses, (or other yellow flowers) representing the flower of the society. (Place brass bowl of yellow flowers as indicated in the picture.)
(To the vice-president): You will place the candle symbolic of JOY. (Place a brass candle stick with a green candle as indicated in the picture.)
(To the secretary): You will place the candle symbolic of VISION. (Places a matched candle as indicated in picture.)
(To the treasurer): You will place the candle symbolic of SERVICE. (Places a matched candle as indicated in picture.)
(To the president): You will now light the candle of Joy, Vision, Service. (Lights them in the order placed.)
(To the vice-president): You will now place the tray of membership cards. (Places the tray with cards arranged for convenient distribution as indicated in picture.)
(To the treasurer): You will now place the tray of official keys. (Places tray as indicated in picture.) (Optional.)
(To the secretary): You will place the secretary's book for the official membership roll. (Places the book as indicated in picture.)
(To the president): You will now place the official scarf. (Places the scarf as indicated in picture allowing the scroll to hang over the edge.)
(To the sponsor): You will now place the constitution of the society and/or Bible on the official scarf. (Places as indicated in picture.)

(To the president, who steps forward): You, (Name), as president of __________ Chapter of Alpha Phi Sigma, shall act as presiding officer at regular and called meetings of the Chapter; shall, with the advice of other officers and the sponsor, direct the activities of the Chapter in accordance with the purpose of Alpha Phi Sigma and with its constitution and by laws; shall call special meetings at your discretion and when a petition signed by a majority of the active members shall be presented to you; and shall appoint all standing committees deemed necessary. You have heard the statement of the duties which you as president will be expected to perform. Do you promise to discharge these duties to the best of your ability?
PRESIDENT OF CHAPTER: I do.
NATIONAL PRESIDENT (to vice-president of Chapter, who steps forward): You (Name), as vice-president of __________ Chapter of Alpha Phi Sigma. shall assume the duties of the president when the president cannot fulfill them and may be called upon to perform other important activities of the Chapter. In case of the resignation of the president or his inability to perform the duties of the office, you shall succeed to the office of president and shall serve until the next regular election of officers and until a successor has been elected and has qualified. You have heard the statement of the duties which you as vice- president will be expected to perform. Do you promise to discharge these duties to the best of your ability?
VICE-PRESIDENT: I do.
NATIONAL PRESIDENT (to the secretary of the Chapter, who steps forward): You (Name), as secretary of __________ Chapter of Alpha Phi Sigma, shall take careful minutes of all meetings; shall, when these have been read and approved, enter them with date into a well bound book which you shall deposit with the sponsor of the Chapter at the end of your term of office; shall carry on such correspondence as may be delegated to you by the president; shall sign with the president all credential cards of delegates to national meetings. You have heard the statement of the duties which you as secretary will be expected to perform. Do you promise to discharge these duties to the best of your ability?
SECRETARY OF CHAPTER: I do.
NATIONAL PRESIDENT (to the treasurer of the Chapter, who steps forward): You (Name), as treasurer of Chapter of Alpha Phi Sigma, shall receive all moneys from any source which belong to your Chapter, pay all bills allowed by your Chapter, keep an accurate record of all receipts and expenditures, and make a report at each regular meeting of the Chapter. You have heard the statement of your duties which you as treasurer will be expected to perform. Do you promise to discharge these duties to the best of your ability?
TREASURER OF CHAPTER: I do. (arrow)
NATIONAL PRESIDENT (to sponsor (s), who steps forward): You (Name), as sponsor (s) of __________ Chapter of Alpha Phi Sigma, shall attend all meetings of the Chapter; shall advise and counsel the Chapter with wisdom; shall be responsible for having the scholastic records of initiates checked; shall take charge of the charter, the constitution, the initiation manual, and the regalia of the Chapter; and shall preserve all record books of the Chapter. You have heard the statement of the duties which you as sponsor will be expected to perform. Do you promise to discharge these duties to the best of your ability?
SPONSOR: I do.
NATIONAL PRESIDENT: You will now write your names with your official positions in the record book. (Sign in this order: sponsor (s), president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer.) By the power vested in me as National President of Alpha Phi Sigma, I now commit all of you officers and your sponsor to the duties which you have promised to perform, confident that you will perform them well.
