New Student Checklist

Listed below are initiatives and actions that can potentially contribute to experiencin g a successful first semester and first year.
   
Attend the AAR (Academic Advising and Registration) program to recieve appropriate advising for your initial term of registration at BSU.
 

At AAR you will:

  • Meet individually with an academic advisor to select courses, register for courses, and get your BSU ID card. All on-campus students recieve an ID card with your student picture. AAR participants will have your picture taken for your ID card during the program. If you are unable to get your picture ID at AAR, you can stop by the Hobson Memorial Union Information desk during business hours with proof of registration to obtain one.
   

Fill out Financial Aid information. This includeds the federal application (FAFSA), and the BSU Financial Aid application included in the Accepted Student Packet.

   
Secure housing. If living on-campus fill out the Residential Life application included in the Accepted Student Packet, and submit to Residential Life in Walnut Hall.

 

 Purchase your books There is an on-campus bookstore, the University Bookstore, located in the Hobson Memorial Union. You may stop by or reserve books online here. There are also several other purchasing options available off-campus.
   

Have your final high school or transfer college transcripts sent to BSU prior to the start of classses.

   
Turn your Immunization Form into Health Services, located in Birch Hall (218) 755-2053, included in the Accepted Student Packet.
 
Attend RMRW (Responsible Men, Responsible Women) performance. At the AAR performance you will be given a letter and ticket to an assigned performance.
