Jacob "Jake" Hertwig

Hello there!  My name is Jake Hertwig, and I am the Residential Hall Director for Tamarack Hall and Linden Hall.  I work very closely with the staff and students of the residence halls and serve as an all-around resource for any concerns they may be facing.  My duties include overseeing the daily operations of the residence halls, supervising staff in the buildings, and meeting with students about any concerns or questions that they may be facing. 

I am originally from Winger, MN (about 1 hour west of Bemidji), where I grew up with my dad, mom and younger sister.  I graduated from Bemidji State University with my Bachelor of the Arts in Social Studies.  During my time here, I have spent a lot of time working with the Residential Life staff, as well as staying very involved with the Lutheran Campus Ministries.  

I’ve always enjoyed working with students and being a resource for them so that they can get the best experience from college that they possibly can.  I always welcome the opportunity to be able to make their day a little bit brighter.  My favorite hobbies include: MUSIC (listening to it, playing it, going to concerts), movies, golfing, acting, spending time outside, and, as of recently, playing video games.  If there’s anything else that you would like to know, please don’t hesitate to ask!
