President Sirek I hope you had a great break and Thank you for a great Semester last year. Heather resigned from the Legislative Affairs Chair position. Please apply and I will help with the lobby issues. State Lobby Day is coming up and we need to go down and fight for money for our university. I got an email from the House Majority Leader that he will push to get tuition offset. MSUSA has a rummage sale and the money will go for scholarships. If you have anything please donate. Bring by the office by Friday. I'm leaving at 8 AM for the Conference and the other car is leaving later. Anyone wants to ride with me let me know. We have 5 senate seats open, 2 SAFAC, the Leg Affairs Chair, the Treasurer and the Cultural Diversity Rep. Please get people to apply. I would like to have a full Senate. I will appoint Jim Miller and Greg Kelly today. I'm sending around a sign up sheet for the National Collegiate Government Student Scholarship. The Organization Director, Linda Blanchard sent over the Senate information section that appears in their bulletin for changes. Changes were read and approved and the form will be returned to Linda Blanchard. A student came to me with a concern about student privacy and the credit card companies getting to much information. We will look into this. The selection committee for the VP position that D. Tiffany left are meeting. I appointed Jim Miller as a representative for us. I'm going to start working on a new brochure for the Student Senate and I need your help. People sign up and also if you have any suggestions what to put on it. I found someone to paint the Student Senate title over the door and windows in the office. The Res Hall Assoc. would like to have a student rep in our meetings and to go to their meetings. Would anyone go to the dorms with e and talk to people about getting involved with Senate. Please sign up for the Leg Affairs committee. State Lobby Day is on Wednesday, February 16th. We need to make plans for this day. We should look at getting enough people to take a bus load of people to go down. We will work with the Northern Tech School to see if they have students to go also.

Vice-President Anderson - We need your schedules everyone. We need them in so the chairs can set meetings and the chairs need to get theirs in for cabinet. Your duties are as a senator is one office hour and 2 office hours for the chairs. Make them real hours no 5 minutes here and there. Do at least 1/2 hour slots. If student's are bringing an issue into the office get a complaint form from them and try to help. If you're not sure ask! Make sure you are attending a committee meeting. Committees start meeting by next week. Read SB-98S-04 concerning the Federal Lobby trip.
