What You Need to Know

BSU has high expectations regarding academic integrity, respect for all and personal responsibility.  BSU also offers many services that can assist you in your academic and personal life during your college years. The ASC has assembled this guide to essential information that you, as a BSU student, need to know.

Rights and Responsibilities

  • Student Handbook
    All BSU students have the responsibility to familiarize themselves with the information in the handbook, which includes academic and campus policies and procedures, the student code of conduct, and what types of information you have a right to, by law, as a student.
  • Responsible Men, Responsible Women
    RMRW is a University Program designed to prevent violence, privacy violations, and harassment by fostering a safe and civil campus community. Attendance at the RMRW program is mandatory for all new students with 6 or more credits.

Academic Support

  • Academic Toolbox
    ASC has developed this toolbox of articles and resources to help you improve your academic skills. Included are articles on time management, skills assessment, study strategies, exam preparation, GPA calculators and planning sheets.
  • ACCUPLACER Assessment
    All students must show college readiness when they enroll at BSU. Learn more about the ACCUPLACER Assessment test and if you are required to take it.
  • Advising Success Center
    Here at the Advising Success Center we can help you with any and all questions related to advising services including advisor assignments, changing advisors, and supplemental advising services for students on academic probation. If you have a question or need advising help, find more information here.
  • Choose Your Major Toolbox
    ASC has developed this toolbox that helps you cut through the confusion and walks you through four easy to follow steps from self examination to making one of the most important decisions of your life.
  • Tutoring
    ASC offers drop in tutoring as well as information and referrals for all other tutoring programs on campus for both on-campus and online students.
