New Student Orientation

Mark your calendars for August 21-23, 2009 to be here for a full weekend of events and activities all created for you!

Bemidji State University believes one of the most important experiences for every student is Orientation. New Student Orientation is the kick-off of the academic year for all students new to Bemidji State University, both as first time college students and transfer students. All of our new fall students are expected to participate.

Students will be broken into small groups of 20-25 students led by faculty and student orientation leaders. Your orientation group will include you and other students registered for your First Year Experience course. During the weekend orientation "Hot Topics Sessions" will provide you with need to know information. You'll learn:

• What BSU expects of you as a student in and out of the classroom
• What resources are available at Bemidji State University and the community of Bemidji and how to take advantage of them
• How to become involved in campus activities both in and out of the classroom
• Where to find campus academic support as well as personal and social support

The weekend will provide you with a number of social networking and learning activities.  The Convocation Ceremony on Sunday, August 23 will officially mark the beginning of your academic journey as an official member of the Bemidji State University student community.

When classes start on Monday, August 24, you and your fellow students will be off to a running start!
