Tutoring Services

The Advising Success Center is your first stop when you are seeking to improve your academic skills and excel in your classes. We offer drop-in tutoring services in a number of academic areas here at the center. We can also provide you with information and referrals to other campus tutoring services that may fit your needs. Assistance is available to you in most subject areas and additional support through faculty can be arranged on an individual basis. 

Academic Toolbox

SmarThinking

BSU, in conjunction with Minnesota Online, provides online tutoring for students in online and web enhanced courses through SmarThinking. SmarThinking is the leading provider of online tutoring and can be accessed via the Internet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. To sign up for SmarThinking, first log into D2L using your regular username and password information. Then go to any of your classes in D2L and, under HelpLinks in the top left of the screen, click on the link to "Online Tutoring: SmarThinking." Use the information provided to sign up for SmarThinking.

Drop-in Tutoring

ASC's Tutoring Program

Drop in tutoring is available for many academic areas, as well as in basic skills such as reading and writing, and study skills.

Check out our schedule for the courses and times tutoring is offered, and fill out the tutoring request [doc] form and drop it off at the ASC. If you don't see the course you need, contact us and we can assist you in getting the help you need.

Want to Become a Tutor?

Do you have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA and a grade of B or better in the course you are interested in tutoring? Do you want to help others while building leadership skills? Then tutoring for the ASC may be for you.
