The Alumni Career Mentoring program allows students to connect with BSU alumni to discuss various career opportunities and the professional environment students can expect to enter with their respective majors. Students can also contact alumni to help determine what major is appropriate for the student.
Registration is required to participate in the Alumni Career Mentoring program. This free registration provides a closed network to BSU students and Alumni, this helps ensure the privacy of BSU students and Alumni.
Career Services encourages all students and alumni to participate in the Alumni Career Mentoring program.
Instructions for registering to use
the
Alumni Career Mentoring program:
- Go to the BSU Alumni website www.bsualumni.org.
- Select “Alumni Programs and Services and then “Alumni Career Mentoring.”
- You must register to use this program. It is available only to BSU alumni and students.
- In the second box, select link titled “Create Username and Password.”
- Enter your last name and select “No User ID Option”.
- On the next screen, enter your anticipated graduation year and the last four digits of your social security number, then click “submit”.
- Fill out the registration pages, being sure to include your student tech ID. When you get to the education page, you can fill in your anticipated graduation year and the box regarding activities while at BSU, but leave the rest blank. Remember the Username and Password you select while registering. You will need these to login to the site in the future.
- You will receive an email from the Alumni Office by the end of the week authorizing your registration. Once you receive this, you can return to the use the Alumni Career Mentoring system.
Instructions for participating in the
Alumni Career Mentoring Program

Go to the Alumni website
at www.bsualumni.org.
- Select “Alumni Programs and Services”
- Select “Alumni Career Mentoring.”
- Enter your login information (the username and password you selected when registering)
- Select “Alumni Career Mentoring” again.
- Select “Find a Mentor”
- Select the career
categories you are interested in being mentored in.
- You can select multiple categories by holding down the control key on your keyboard while clicking on the categories.
- Read the mini bios for each mentor that was selected and decide who you want to contact.
- Click on the “Contact Me” button to bring up an email screen and type your message. All communication in this program will take place electronically.
- You may communicate with as many alumni as you choose, but please be respectful of their time and respond promptly when they reply to your contact.
- Remember that all alumni are participating in the Career Mentoring program because they want to help students and other alumni with their career planning, so do not feel hesitant or intimidated to contact them.
