Student Quick Guide

You need to have your resume critiqued by one of our staff in order to begin the process.  Call 755-2038 to set up and appointment to have your resume reviewed. 


Enter Your Information

  • Click “Student Login.”
  • Click the “Click here to register” link.
  • Carefully go through each box and fill out the required (*) and requested fields.
  • In the Password box, create your own password to use when you log into BSUCareers.
  • When finished, click the “Register” button at the bottom of the page.

Upload Your Resume

  • You will then be prompted to upload your resume file.
  • Documents must be saved in Microsoft Word format. (Microsoft Word is available on most campus computers, including those in the Career Services lab.)
  • Once your file is selected, click “Upload.”

Submit Your Profile

  • Click “Submit Profile” to complete your registration.
  • Once Career Services personnel have approved your resume, you will receive an e-mail stating that your profile has been approved. You will then be able to submit your resume to employers and view interview schedules.
  • Please allow 1-2 business days for your profile to be approved.

Log into website

Once you have registered and uploaded your resume, you can access the BSUCareers system.

Update your profile

  • Click My Profile
  • You will see boxes containing Personal Information, Demographic Information, Skills and Additional Information
  • Each box will have an edit button
  • Make any necessary changes
  • Save all changes
  • Under additional information, if you do not allow for employer viewing, you will not be able to access any schedules and employers will be unable to view your resume when they search the database

Upload your documents

  • Click on My Documents
  • Choose Upload Files
  • Click Browse to find your document
  • Select the correct document and name it
  • Documents must be saved in Microsoft Word format.
  • Click Upload
  • When uploading more than one document, make sure your most generic resume is your default.

Searching for Jobs, Internships and Co-ops

  • Click on Jobs
  • Use the drop down boxes in either the quick search or the advanced search to view positions.
  • Click on the Job ID to see the specifics of the position and how to apply
