What is Counseling?

Counseling is an interactive and confidential process that offers a safe place to talk about things in your life that are of importance to you with an objective, trained professional, who is also a good listener. Counseling is an opportunity to learn more about yourself, learn how to make healthier decisions, figure out what your goals are, and gain the confidence and life skills to achieve them.

Most often students come to counseling to discuss a specific problem or an area of their life that is of concern to them. Making the decision to seek counseling is a strong, proactive step in which you have decided to take control instead of letting your difficulties control you.
