The Counseling
Center's primary mission
is to provide high quality counseling services to BSU students that will enable
them to accomplish their personal and academic goals. We recognize that BSU's
faculty and staff are our partners in this mission and we provide a range of
services and resources to support and assist you in helping students find the
information and, or help they need.
Consultations
The Counseling
Center provides
consultations to faculty and staff regarding any issue concerning a student's
welfare. We can help you assess a student's needs, coach you on how to approach
and talk with a student in distress, and advise you on the best way to make a
referral, when appropriate.
If you feel a student is in crisis, offer to let them use
your phone to call the counseling center, or walk with them over to the
counseling center. Every effort will be made to provide a same day appointment
for the student. See, Making a Referral to the BSU Counseling Center for
more information.

Training and psycho-educational presentations are available upon request, as
staff time and resources permit, to academic departments, student groups,
