Welcome to Disability Services

The Disability Services Office provides academic accommodations for students with documented disabling conditions enrolled in courses and programs through Bemidji State University either in online or on-campus courses.

Our Mission

The mission of the Disability Services Office is to improve the educational development of students with disbilities, enhance understanding and support within the campus community, while providing opportunities for student growth in multicultural understanding, civic engagement and environmental stewardship.  Students will be better prepared to enter their communities as contributing and supporting members with an understanding of the diverse needs of their community.

What We Offer

The Disability Services Office provides accommodations to students with documented disabilities who request accommodations in a particular course.  Links to a copy of our policy manuals for both students taking online and on-campus coursework.

  • Accommodations - Academic accommodations are available to students with disabilities to provide access to the same information other students have access to in their course work.
  • Policies - The University has policy manuals explaining students' rights and responsibilities regarding academic accommodations necessary due to their documented disability.
  • Transitioning - Bemidji State University partners with area high schools to provide information to students with disabilities interested in attending postsecondary education and support through the transitioning process.
