To avoid long waiting periods appointment are required. Urgent care (walk-ins) will be accommodated as time allows. Call or stop by during office hours to make an appointment.

Eligibility

Counseling Services

Enrolled BSU students, taking at least one class on-campus or online, are eligible for counseling services.

Health Services

Enrolled on-campus BSU students who are registered for at least one class at BSU and have paid student fees are eligible for health services. 

The SCHC does not provide care for dependents of students or for faculty and staff members.

Cost

Counseling Services

Counseling Services are free to enrolled BSU students.

Health Services

Some services are available at no cost; others are available at a very reasonable fee. There is often no charge for a consultation with a nurse practitioner or a physician; however, if students have procedures done which utilize equipment, receive medication, or have lab work done, there is a charge. Costs for prescription medication and laboratory work done at the Student Health Service are very reasonable.

Payment

You do not have to pay at the time of your visit. Your charges will be sent to the Cashier's Office and you will be billed within several weeks. Payment is made at the Cashier's Office in Deputy Hall. If the bill is not paid, you may not be allowed to register for the next semester, and/or may not receive grades until the charges are cleared.

Insurance

Students are strongly encouraged to carry health insurance. Insurance is available through the Minnesota State University Student Health Plan for students not covered by their parent's insurance.
