Domestic Insurance

MnSCU has decided to no longer offer health insurance for domestic students for the 2014-2015 academic year.  This decision is due to the requirements of the Affordable Care Act which went into effect January 1st  2014.  The cost of the insurance through our current provider would increase substantially, thus the decision was made to no longer offer the coverage. The current plan will expire on August 14th  2014.

The Student Center for Health and Counseling has arranged for a navigator specialist who works directly with MNSure to give two presentations on campus.  MNSure is the state marketplace where uninsured individuals can shop and sign up for insurance.  This specialist has been working with MNSure for greater than 6 months and can help individuals with insurance needs.

Remember, all individuals are required by the Affordable Care Act to have health insurance by March 31st 2014.
