Online Tutoring

Both on- and off-campus writers are welcome to submit drafts or questions to us online. We cannot proofread, revise, or edit your writing for you—but we can address specific questions. Whether online or in person, proofreading a paper for you would be a violation of academic integrity.  For this reason we have developed the following guidelines to help you pinpoint specific areas and questions, which will in turn help us to give you the most helpful response we can.

Submission Guidelines

Grammar and Punctuation

  • Send us general questions about grammar, mechanics, and punctuation, or ask us to look at specific sentences for advice

Citations and Formatting

  • Send us a draft of a research paper, a works cited page, or questions about citing specific sources and formatting for APA, MLA, or other styles

Clarifying Assignments

  • Need help understanding an assignment? Send it to us along your questions, and we can help you get started.

Explaining Teacher Comments

  • We don't read minds, but we can try to decipher and explain teacher comments like "you need to be clearer," or "why would I believe this?" or "AWK."

The Writing Process

  • Many people have difficulty getting started on a writing project or generating ideas and content. We can give you tips and suggestions to guide you through the process from beginning to end.
