Shared governance

Hmmmm…do we have this at BSU?

Shared Governance

Philosophy of organizational leadership that places great emphasis on participation by all organizational members in the decision making processes of the organization. Manifestations include but are not limited to extensive opportunities for feedback by individuals that will be genuinely considered by leaders in decision making, use of democratic processes such as votes when appropriate in decision making, and the sufficient empowerment of individuals coupled with the necessary authority to successfully complete delegated decision making. Shared governance requires that those in formal leadership roles be willing to share authority with individuals under their supervision and that all organizational members accept responsibility for the decision making process.
