Bemidji State’s biochemistry, cellular and molecular biology degree is a well-rounded, interdisciplinary program offered by the Departments of Biology and Chemistry to prepare students for graduate school, professional school or careers in the biomedical sciences.<\/p>\n
The curriculum complements pre-professional programs including medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, veterinary medicine and physical therapy. It is a laboratory-rich program that includes core courses in biology and chemistry, a sequence of seminars, laboratory techniques courses and a senior research experience. Students may select one of two emphases to further align the degree with their career interests.<\/p>\n
This emphasis contains additional coursework in chemistry, including analytical chemistry and other upper-level chemistry courses. It is ideal for students with career interests in pharmacy, other pre-health programs or graduate school for which more coursework in chemistry would be advantageous.<\/p>\n
