Dr. Rochelle (Riki) Scheela (Chair; rscheela@bemidjistate.edu), Ms. Jeanine Gangeness, Ms. Diane Rose, Ms. Linda Thorson
(requires Registered Nurse Licensure for admission)
Notes: For Pre-Nursing, see description under "Pre-Professional Programs." The BSU Pre-Nursing curriculum does not serve as a foundation for admission to the BSU baccalaureate program, which admits registered nurses only. However, a licensed practical nursing program and an associate degree registered nurse program are available in the Bemidji area.
The baccalaureate Nursing program is specifically designed to admit only registered nurse graduates of diploma and associate degree nursing programs. The program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and is a member of the Agassiz Region Nursing Education Consortium (ARNEC) and Itasca Nursing Education Consortium (INEC). Because the program serves registered nurses who live and work in various geographical areas, courses are offered in block schedules, and some components are offered on the Internet and at off-campus sites throughout northern Minnesota. Students may enroll in liberal education courses and selected Nursing courses prior to being admitted to the Nursing major.
Registered Nurse Licensure in Minnesota
Students are encouraged to discuss with their advisor the option of a second major or minor that might strengthen or complement their major.
Transfer Students: At least one-third of the credits to be included in the major must be successfully completed at Bemidji State University.
