Mathematics Major, B.A.

The Bachelor of Arts Mathematics major is designed to provide the student with a basic core of knowledge in the discipline of mathematics.

I.Transfer students must take a minimum of 15 quarter hours in the major at Bemidji State University.

II. Required Courses

Subtotal: 37 credits

NOTE: If the student's high school mathematics courses and/or the Mathematics Placement Test indicate a lack of readiness for calculus, the student will be placed in one of the following pre-calculus sequences: MATH 145 and 146 or MATH 141 and 142 or MATH 112, 113, 114, and 141.

III. Additional Required Courses

Select a minimum of two courses from:

IV. Required Electives

Complete 12 quarter hours with no more than 4 quarter hours in Computer Science: Select from MATH 326 or above, or CS 221 through CS 229.

Subtotal: 12 credits

TOTAL QUARTER HOURS REQUIRED FOR MAJOR: 57 CREDITS
