Mathematics Course Desciptions
The Mathematics Bachelor of Science (Teacher Licensure) minor meets the licensure requirements of the Minnesota Board of Teaching for minors. Graduates of the program are licensed to teach mathematics one-half time or less for a period of seven years after initial licensure. By the end of the seven year period, the minor must have been upgraded to a major in order to continue to be licensed in the field.*NOTE: Candidates seeking teacher certification in a minor must take the Education Methods course specific to that minor. See Course Offerings under Professional Education.

*NOTE: If the student's high school mathematics courses and/or the Mathematics Placement Test indicate a lack of readiness for calculus, the student will be placed in one of the following pre-calculus sequences: MATH 145 and 146 or MATH 141 and 142 or MATH 112, 113, 114, and 141.
