French Major B.S., (Teacher Licensure)

*Note: All teaching majors and minors in French must achieve a "good" or "superior" rating in 4 of the 7 competencies defined in the MLA "Qualifications for Secondary School Teachers of Modern Foreign Languages," and at least a "minimal" rating in the remaining 3 competencies. The 4 competencies must include listening, comprehension, speaking, and reading.

I.Required Courses (Core)

• 26 quarter hours of course work from French courses numbered 300 or above (excluding French 415) (26 credits)
• FREN 415 Senior Seminar (4 credits)
• ED 317 Methods of Teaching Modern Languages (3 credits)

Subtotal: 33 credits

II.Required Electives

• Select at least 9 quarter hours of course work from the courses listed below, distributing them over at least two departments.
