Programs Abroad

Through study, work, and travel situations, students have the opportunity to further develop proficiency in modern languages while broadening their understanding of cultures and people. Study abroad programs may be of interest to students who wish to enhance other major fields and interests. Faculty in the Department of Modern Languages may be contacted for information. Additional programs are available through Foreign Studies and International Studies. Study programs abroad are also available through the MSUS Common Market Program.

French

Study programs in France and French-speaking Canada are available throughout the calendar year. Institutes and universities in many French-speaking Canadian cities are open to American students. Study opportunities vary from school to school. Work experience may be arranged in private homes (usually in au pair situations), farms, restaurants, hotels, and ski resorts. Pay usually includes room, board, and some spending money. Students can receive academic credit for overseas study/work (see French 301).

German

Study programs in German speaking countries are available throughout the calendar year. Study opportunities vary. Work experience may be arranged. Students can receive academic credit for study/work (see German 301).

Spanish

Spanish programs are available throughout the year in the many Spanish speaking countries. Arrangements may be made for special projects, workshops, or internships. Students can receive academic credit for study/work (see Spanish 301).
