Suggested Schedule For The French, German, or Spanish Major B.S. (Teacher Licensure)

The following is a list of required language courses arranged by year. This schedule is intended to help students plan their courses in an orderly fashion; however, these are only suggestions and this schedule is flexible. Students entering with previous high school language background may begin at the 200 or 300 level. See Department Chair for placement testing.

Freshman

• French, German, or Spanish 110, 111, 112
• Second major or minor course work
• Liberal Education requirements

Sophomore

• French, German, or Spanish 210, 211, 212
• Second major or minor course work
• Professional Education requirements
• Guided Electives
• Complete Liberal Education requirements

Junior

• French, German, or Spanish 310, 311, 312
• Professional Education requirements
• Second major or minor course work

Senior

• FREN 415 and SPAN 415 Senior Seminars for those majors
• French, German, or Spanish 300 or above courses
• Complete Professional Education requirements
• Complete second major or minor course work

  The following liberal education courses are recommended for students majoring in a modern language: European and/or other appropriate history courses, philosophy, European and/or appropriate art history courses, folk dance, economics, or political science.
