Catalog Home | Pre-Professional Program
Many Universities are dropping their undergraduate Physical Therapy Programs and replacing them with a graduate program. The remaining undergraduate professional programs give preference to applicants with a baccalaureate degree. It is advised that all students interested in Physical Therapy complete an undergraduate degree. The choice of the major is not critical, but the student must complete all the science and associated courses prior to entry into the professional Program. The courses listed below are the courses required by the University of Minnesota Physical Therapy Program. Students interested in completing their professional requirements at another University are encouraged to contact that school early in their undergraduate career for additional specific requirements.Pre-physical therapy students should declare an academic major as well as their pre-professional intentions. Pre-physical therapy is not a major.
*Note: Openings in physical therapy programs are limited and highly competitive. Consult with adviser before registering for pre-physical therapy courses.
