Visual Arts Course Desciptions
Transfer students must earn a minimum of 33 quarter hours in the major at Bemidji State University (see Visual Arts introduction).

Nine hours of studio, art history, or courses in allied discipline (e.g., philosophy, literature, languages) (9 credits)With the help of advisor, select at least 7 additional quarter hours from the following:
- VSAR 258 Survey of American Indian Art (4 credits)
- VSAR 354 Early 20th Century Art (4 credits)
- VSAR 356 Studies in Arch. and Design (3 credits)
- VSAR 357 Oriental Art (4 credits)
- VSAR 358 19th Century American and European Art (4 credits)
- VSAR 360 History of Modern Design (3 credits)
- VSAR 455 Studies in Art History (3 credits)

May be taken in graphic design, drawing, printmaking, painting, sculpture/3-D design, ceramics, jewelry/metals, art history, Native American Art, mixed media.With consent of advixsor, Art History students may apply up to 8 hours of coursework in an allied discipline (e.g. history, languages, literature).
