II. Required Electives

ENGL: Complete one course from English, American, or world literature listings on the 2000 level (2 credits)
HST: Complete one course from HST 1304 World History I or HST 1305 World History II or American, European, or non-Western History listings on the 2000 level (3-4 credits)
Modern Languages: Complete a one year course sequence in one of the following languages: French, German, Ojibwe, or Spanish (6-8 credits)
MUS: Complete MUS 1100 Introduction to Music or MUS 1120 Folk, Jazz, and Rock (2 credits)
PHIL: Complete either PHIL 1100 Introduction to Philosophy or any 2000 level Philosophy course (3 credits)
VSAR: Complete VSAR 1107 Introduction to Art or VSAR 2551 Art History Survey I or VSAR 2552 Art History Survey II (2-4 credits)

A. Humanities Discipline Option

Select with the consent of advisor 12 credits of course work, mainly at the 3000 level or higher. Course work may be selected from one of the following departments: English, History, Modern Languages, Music, Philosophy, Theatre/ Speech, or Visual Arts.

B. American Studies Option

Select with consent of advisor 12 credits in courses concerned with civilization in the United States. Courses selected should include several disciplines to ensure breadth of study. Suggested courses are:
