Mathematics Minor, B.S., B.A.

The Mathematics Minor provides a choice of two emphases. The scientific emphasis is primarily for students majoring in the physical sciences while the applied technical emphasis is primarily designed for students majoring in biology, business, industrial technology, or the behavioral sciences.

MATH 2471 Calculus I (5 credits)
MATH 2472 Calculus II (5 credits)
MATH 3210 Foundations and Discrete Mathematics (4 credits)

2. Required Electives

Select 6 credits from the following:

MATH 2480 Multivariable Calculus (4 credits)
MATH 2490 Differential Equations (4 credits)
Mathematics course numbered 3260 or above except 3550 and 4350.

Total Semester Credits Required for Minor, Field of Emphasis A 20 Credits

B. Applied Technical Field of Emphasis

1. Required Courses

1. MATH 2171 Concepts of Calculus I (5 credits)
   and MATH 2172 Concepts of Calculus II (3 credits)
2. MATH 2471Calculus I (5 credits)
   and MATH 2472 Calculus II (5 credits)

Take both of the following:

MATH 2610 Applied Statistics (4 credits)
CS 1141 Campus Computing I (1 credit)

Select one of the following:

CS 1309 Problem Solving, Programs, and Computers (3 credits)
CS 2207 Computer Programming: BASIC (3 credits)
CS 2229 Computer Programming: C/C++ (3 credits)
