Physical education is the training of the mind and body through study, activities, and physical exercise. This combination encourages behavior change and the adoption of healthful values that contribute to wellness.

The Department provides an up-to-date curricular structure and consistent course offering scheme, enabling students to systematically complete programs.

It also provides positive educational environment, and quality learning opportunities via competent and updated instruction, internships, seminars, practicums, student teaching, research, and coaching experiences; quality Liberal Education and athletic opportunities enhancing personal and university-wide wellness; and academic and athletic services for local and regional constituents.

Students are encouraged to discuss with their advisor the option of a second major or minor that might strengthen or complement their major.

Credit Requirement

Transfer Students: At least one-third of the credits to be included in the major must be successfully completed at Bemidji State University.
