VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) FREE Tax Help!

Every year during tax preparation season, Bemidji State University’s Department of Accountancy offers free federal and state tax preparation and eFiling, sponsored by the IRS

This service usually starts on the first Wednesday of February and holds sessions on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, other than during spring break. Watch the BSU News page and events calendar for updated times and dates. Sessions are held in room 250 of BSU’s Memorial Hall, located on the corner of 15th St. NE and Birchmont Drive NE between the Hobson Memorial Union and Deputy Hall. (See campus map) We do not take appointments.

VITA not only offers free preparation, but also free e-filing for qualified individuals. With e-filing and direct deposit, those who qualify typically receive their refund in 8-10 days.
