In 1976, Roger was hired by Bemidji State University to teach radio and television broadcast classes and develop student media. By that time, KBSB (FM 90) had already been founded; Prof. Paskvan proceeded to develop KBSU-TV as a student-operated television outlet feeding the local cable system. The student media became an integral part of the mass communication program. Students have always been encouraged to develop their skills using live media outlets and learn broadcast management through student-run operations. KBSB is a significant station in the local Market and broadcasts music students want to hear. KDRS is a student-run radio Internet station. KBSU TV currently feeds two cable systems reaching an audience of 40,000 and telecasts BSU athletic events as a student learning experience. Both the radio and TV stations are on-line streaming audio and video on the Internet 24 hours a day.

Mr. Paskvan founded and operates WBJI, a 100,000-watt FM radio station in Bemidji, in addition to KKBJ Radio. These local radio stations employ many BSU grads, and curently have a total staff of 22 people. Prof. Paskvan has plenty of experiences to draw upon for classroom lectures. His classroom style is informal with heavy emphasis on practical applications to real-world broadcasting.

Roger's hobbies are scuba diving, travel, astronomy, swimming, and music. He has traveled extensively in Europe, South America, the Caribbean, and all over the United States. He enjoys sharing these experiences with others.

In addition to managing the student television station and student radio station, Roger teaches Intro to Audio, Intro to Video, Advanced Video Production, Video Directing, Performance and Production, and Broadcast Engineering.
