2020-2021 Ensemble Auditions

Interested in singing in choir at Bemidji State University? Click here to sign-up and for more information:

Choirs will be meeting in-person, physically distanced, with masks, and rehearsing for no more than 30 minutes at a time to allow adequate time for ventilation and air exchange.

For information on the NFHS study for the Performing Arts that these mitigations were based on, read more here:

Although choir will look a bit different at this time, we are excited to sing together again! Come join us!

Keeping Arts Safe at School Information

Instrumental Ensembles
Wind Ensemble auditions will occur during the first week of classes.

Contact Scott Guidry ( or Laura Holm ( for more information.

Music Scholarships

Each year, the music faculty selects individuals with outstanding musical talent to receive scholarship awards of varying amounts, from $500 to Full Tuition Scholarships.

Candidates need not be planning a major in music to qualify for scholarship awards. To be considered for a scholarship in music, an incoming student must apply for admission to the University at the earliest opportunity, complete a music scholarship application, submit one letter of recommendation under separate cover, and complete an audition.

On-Campus Auditions

Auditions for the 2020-2021 year have been completed. Information regarding the 2021-2022 auditions will be posted later this year. Please check back for more information.

For more information about our music department and scholarships, please contact Dr. Eric Olson at or office tel:218-755-3941.

All admitted students are encouraged to visit our campus in-person at any point during the school year and are welcome to observe most classes and ensemble rehearsals.  Upon request, sample lessons are usually available with many of our studio teachers.
