On Thursday, November 10, the American Indian Nursing Initiative collaborated with the American Indian Resource Center to hold a Coming Together Feast. The purpose of this community-building event was to: 1) celebrate the American Indian Nursing Recruitment/Retention Initiative created and supported by the nursing department and 2) recognize the hard work that the dedicated students in attendance put into their semesters and their futures.
All 4-year-track nursing students and all American Indian students were invited to attend a faculty prepared/served roast beef meal at the AIRC between 11a-2p. At least 150 students, faculty, staff, and guests were served. The menu included roast beef, chicken, sweet potatoes, green salad, green bean casserole, broccoli, coleslaw, fresh veggies with hummus, baked potato bar, lasagna, bread, pumpkin pie, brownies, and cookies.
