A three-person team of program evaluators from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) visited BSU on November 15 – 17, 2017, as part of the continuing accreditation process for the Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.
The visit included interviews with University administration, nursing faculty and students, leaders from offices that provide student support services, liberal education faculty, and the nursing advisory board. The visitors toured the library, the nursing lab, and a clinical site. They also spent several hours reviewing documentation provided by the nursing department in support of our CCNE Self-Study Report.
There are a few remaining steps in the process, which won’t be completed until after the Board of Commissioners meets in May, 2018. However, the preliminary report presented by the visiting team during the exit interview indicates that the BSU Nursing Program meets all of the CCNE Standards for Accreditation and is in compliance with all key elements.
