The Department of Nursing offers ample facilities to enhance student learning and ensure the best possible success. Internships, scholarships, and the Student Nurses Association ensure students get the most out of their experience at BSU.

The role of the nursing department in both of these processes is to verify degree completion for the Minnesota Board of Nursing, which can be done after your degree is posted. The Records Office will begin processing applications for graduation at the end of the semester. It may take 3-5 weeks after the end of your last semester for your degree to be posted. To see if your degree has been posted go to MyBSU – E-Services – Academic Record – Chronological – Get Academic Record. Once your degree has been posted it will show up at the top.
The above instructions apply to MN licensure only. Graduates wishing to obtain a license in another state will need to follow the process outlined by that state’s board of nursing.
Niganawenimaanaanig (We take care of them) provides support and community to Indigenous nursing students within the pre-licensure and RN-BS tracks at Bemidji State.
Nursing students have the opportunity to participate in internships over the summer of their junior and senior year.
