PrePrimary Endorsement

The PrePrimary Endorsement is an optional add-on for education students. It can be added to any existing full license and results in licensure to teach PrePrimary (Age 3 – PreK).

The credits can be taken in addition to a student’s plan of study, spread throughout semesters as their schedule permits pending noted prerequisites.

Preprimary Endorsement:
  • ED 3670 Foundations of Early Childhood Education (3 credits)
    10 hours of field experience outside of class
    – Course offered on campus only – fall only
  • ED 3677 Relations and Management in Early Childhood Education (3 credits)
    10 hours of field experience outside of class
    – Course offered on campus only – spring only
Student Teaching:

ED 4811 Preprimary Student Teaching (5 credits)*

Total: 6-11 credits*

 

Please note: There is an additional MTLE Content Test for PrePrimary Licensure.

*When combined with Elementary Education you will complete a total of 12 Student Teaching Credits.

Students who only complete the minimum (42 credits) Liberal Education requirements, Elementary Education, and the PrePrimary Endorsement MAY BE SHORT OVERALL CREDITS FOR GRADUATION. Please consult with your advisor to ensure you are on track for graduation.
