Professional Education

For student teachers in the campus-based program, Bemidji State is making the transition to the co-teaching model of student teaching. Starting spring term, 2019, we aim to transition fully to a co-teaching model for our student teachers.

This model has been pioneered and researched throughout the country, but most notably implemented for 10+ years at our neighboring university in St. Cloud.

We’re building on their collective wisdom and you can get some of your most common questions answered about the co-teaching model by following the links below.

Why Co-Teaching?

It’s like having a personal PLC in a classroom.  Two teachers co-planning, developing common assessments, problem-solving the needs of kids together.
