NES/MTLE Testing

**NEW-Fall 2021 FasTrack Applicants Do NOT Need to Complete the NES/MTLE Skills Test For Enrollment!

If you would like to take the NES/MTLE Tests, follow the information below:

This can be met in one of the following ways:

Option 1: Upload official score reports or receipts showing you have TAKEN the Minnesota NES Reading, Writing, and Math exams with your online application for admission.

Option 2: Students may be exempt from the NES exam if they meet one of the other accepted test score combinations found on the Board of Teaching Licensure Exams website:

*The NES Essential Academic Skills (EAS) includes a “Technology Literacy” sub-test, which is NOT required for Minnesota candidates.

Register for the NES Essential Academic Skills  (Reading, Writing, and Math) tests HERE.

Students are not required to take the  exams for admission to FasTrack. All tests (Minnesota NES Essential Academic Skills Reading, Writing and Math) must be passed to receive a Tier 4 Professional teaching license in Minnesota.

If you are using one of the other testing options found on the PELSB website (i.e.: ACT, SAT, GRE, etc.) you must have passing scores to be exempt from the Minnesota NES Essential Academic Skills exams.
