Gender and Women’s Studies Minor

Gender and Women’s Studies takes an intersectional approach, designed to understand the diversity of human experiences as reflected in the intersections of race, class, sexuality, and gender across historical and transnational contexts.

Gender and Women’s Studies emphasizes a participatory model of education that allows students to explore the role of gender and it’s practical implications for their everyday life experiences.

Through the lens of gender, students will examine such issues as stratification, colonization, power relationships, and cultural stereotypes in order to discover ways in which present scholarly issues intersect with their deepest personal concerns in order to guide them toward a meaningful future.
