Why Honors?

The Honors Program has a long history of providing intellectual and creative excitement as well as academic challenge. Since its inception in 1965, the Honors Program has been dedicated to achieving its goals through team taught interdisciplinary courses.

It is in a team-teaching setting that faculty and students work together to share insights and examine perspectives to gain new understandings and interests, engage in dialog on multiple points of view, analyze ideas critically, and practice creative and unconventional thinking. We strive to challenge, motivate and support students to put forth their best efforts in pursuit of their undergraduate study and to enrich their university experience through active learning and engagement with the academic experience.
