As a COVID-19 precaution, on-campus registration events for new Fall 2020 students have been cancelled.
We are happy to share that we have begun taking reservations for our new “Remote Registration” process and students are being registered for classes on a daily basis. Please complete the questionnaire below to begin your Fall 2020 registration process. Thank you for your continued interest in Bemidji State University and your support for our processes that promote the safety and health of our students, faculty, staff, and community.
Based on continuing guidance from state and federal health officials, Bemidji State University has decided to cancel all on-campus AAR events up to and including May 15th. As you can imagine, these events draw a large number of people to campus from various geographies around the region. While we understand that this is a very exciting time for incoming students and their families, this is out of a sense of greater caution for our students, faculty, and staff.
After much discussion between campus administration, our team of advisors, and our admissions staff, we have developed an option for students to get your classes reserved and registered for remotely.
Once COVID-19 related travel and large group restrictions have a more definitive end-date, we hope to begin scheduling summer AAR sessions that will contain all of the normal AAR activities. We are currently keep the June 19, 2020 event on the schedule as "tentative", but are not taking new registrations for this program at this time.
If we are allowed to proceed with new AAR events in the summer, you will have a chance to work directly with an advisor to adjust your schedule (if needed), meet professors, and work with support staff like financial aid and campus housing. Importantly, we want to make sure you get a chance to meet some of your new BSU classmates at these summer events.
Of course, this assumes that travel and large group restrictions are lifted by summer. As a precautionary measure, we recommend that ALL students planning to enroll at Bemidji State for Fall 2020 complete the remote registration questionnaire below.
Students will complete an online pre-registration questionnaire (below) that addresses many common questions that you would normally discuss with an advisor at your initial meeting and gives our team important baseline information to begin planning your schedule.
Based on any applicable factors (earned college credits, major, planned extracurricular or athletic commitments, etc…) your advising information will be forwarded to one of any number of faculty and staff that would have normally been assisting with new student advising at AAR.
This advisor will build a recommended schedule for you based on all of the information that we collect in our pre-registration questionnaire. This completed schedule will be mailed to your permanent address, along with other advising related materials that would normally be provided physically in an on-campus AAR event. Advisors will provide their contact information in this package as well.
Once you have received your schedule and related advising materials, we ask that you review the contents and review your schedule that we have pre-built. Once you have had a chance to review this information, we encourage students with questions, modification requests, or any general comments to contact your advisor via phone, email, or video-call.
