The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have provided this Fact Sheet on COVID-19.
For up to date information on COVID-19, the Minnesota Department of Health has created a website intended specifically for schools, including colleges and universities. It is located at:
Minnesota Department of Health (MDH):
U.S. State Department:
Bemidji State University is canceling all on-campus visits, local high school visits, and attendance at off-campus recruitment events as a precautionary measure to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 exposure to our university community and prospective students. On-campus and face-to-face visit reservations will reopen when state and federal guidelines permit.
To connect with the admissions office during this time, please call or text 218-308-1600 or email firstname.lastname@example.org or visit https://www.bemidjistate.edu/admissions/undergraduate/events-visits/visit-campus/

Social Distancing means, in basic terms, that it is recommended to keep six feet of space between you and another person, or to limit personal interactions in which keeping six feet of space between people is not possible to 10 minutes or less. In-person meetings can continue if there is physical space for people to spread out, or people can join remotely via Zoom or some other technological means. This even applies to people who are on campus — many meetings are being held in which people on campus are joining by Zoom, including meetings of the President’s Cabinet and our Emergency Operations Team. Please encourage remote or virtual participation in any meetings, events or other activities that you may be scheduling to the greatest extent possible.
Immediately contact your local department of health, which may be affiliated with your city, county, or state, depending on where you live. Information for these agencies in Bemidji is available on this website. The Minnesota Department of Health website includes contact information for regional offices in Minnesota, and also a list of contact information for each county Department of Health in Minnesota. If you are not a Minnesota resident, your home state's department of health should have similar resources available on its website.
We encourage students, faculty and staff to practice respiratory (coughing and sneezing) etiquette and hand hygiene. Those who feel sick are recommended to stay home until they are free of fever, signs of a fever, and any other symptoms for at least 24 hours, without the use of fever-reducing or other symptom-altering medicines (e.g. cough suppressants). Employees should notify their supervisor and stay home if they are sick, and seek medical attention depending on the severity of the symptoms.
