Dr. Amy Funk Assistant Professor of Nursing

Biography

Amy has earned undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Nursing, a master's degree in Gerontology, and a Ph.D. in Nursing. She is board certified in Gerontological Nursing. Her work and volunteer life have focused on care of older adults, children, individuals with severe mental illness, and those experiencing homelessness.

Her teaching expertise focuses on community health nursing, mental health nursing, addictions, and gerontology/end of life care. She is a member of the board of directors of the National Health Care for the Homeless Committee. She is a member of the Beltrami County Resiliency Team and the Community and Police Advisory Board.

She has two adult children. She loves to go exploring-canoeing, hiking, and cross-country skiing.
