A.C. Clark Library New Online Resources

We would like to point your attention to two new online resources that have been added to the library’s Online Resources page:

Films on Demand
A streaming video and multimedia database that includes thousands of videos in many subject areas, from high-quality sources such as Films for the Humanities & Sciences, Cambridge Educational, PBS, BBC, CBC, and many more. Available for classroom use or for streaming in online courses.

Choice Reviews Online

Provides full text reviews of “significant current books and electronic resources of interest to those in higher education. Each year CHOICE publishes more than 6,500 reviews by subject experts.”

Choice Reviews Online is a great tool that departments can use to submit book recommendations in support of curriculum areas. The Choice Reviews Online site is has a new and improved interface as well.

(Please note that the “Alerts” and “Saved Lists” features do not transfer to the new version. Please e-mail yourself any lists you would like to retain. The old version of CRO will be available for a few months to allow users time to manage their lists.)

Questions? Please call the Reference Desk at 755-3342 (1-800-860-0234), or use the Ask a Question service.

More Courses Added to Textbooks for Course Reserves

The Library has added more textbooks for courses participating in the “Textbooks for Course Reserves” pilot project, using funds from student fees approved by the Student Senate. Students are encouraged to search the MnPALS Catalog course reserves, or Browse Course Reserves by Instructor Name or Title, to see if their course text might be on reserve.

If you have questions about the Textbooks on Course Reserves Pilot Project, please call the Reference Desk at 755-3342 (toll free 1-800-860-0234).

Information for A. C. Clark Library Users

The A. C. Clark Library Circulation Department will begin an archiving process for completed BSU library transactions on Friday, August 23rd.  Please check “Your Borrowing Record” in the BSU Library Catalog, and review your “Loan History List” category (note: you must have at least one item currently checked out in order for the Loan History List to display). After August 23rd, only loans from the current and the preceding semester will be listed, at any given time, in your borrowing record. Please retain the information you need from any previous loans, as they will be removed from your borrowing record as a result of the archiving process.
