Touché Gallerie to host works of Deb Krueger

BEMIDJI, Minn. — Deb Krueger will present an exhibition entitled “Everyday Miracles - Celebrating the Ordinary” in Bemidji State University’s Touché Gallerie from Monday, March 16, through Friday, March 27. The exhibit is one of a number of activities on and around campus recognizing March as Women’s History Month.

Krueger, an office and administrative specialist in Hagg-Sauer Hall, will exhibit a collection of photos, poetry and found objects from nature.

As a child growing up in Minnesota’s Twin Cities, Krueger was fascinated by nature and beauty. She collected agates from gravel roads, found bugs and flowers in vacant lots and hunted crayfish in creeks while marveling at the play of light in the rippling waves of the Mississippi River.

She brought her love of nature with her to northern Minnesota when she relocated to Blackduck and now tries to pass that love on to her four children and three grandchildren. Photography and art classes taken at Bemidji State helped Krueger gather a deeper appreciation for sharing beauty through writing and capturing special moments in life with the lense.

An opening reception for the show will be held on Monday, March 23, from 4-6 p.m.

The exhibit is sponsored in part by the women’s studies program at Bemidji State.

Located in the Upper Hobson Union on the campus of Bemidji State University, the Touché Gallerie is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. The gallery is open at no charge to the public.

For more information, contact Touché Gallerie Director Brad Carhill at (218) 755-3760.
